What Life Is

Image : Google

Just couldn't resist
the aroma of  Arabica
tempting my nostril
and
take it or no?
never mind
will take the risk
of counting sheep
till dawn.....

A Hornbill Rambles

Each morning when she wakes up, she feels blessed to be able to see the light again after in darkness the past seven hours, that was when her whole being was at rest though her mind was wandering in dreamland. The fresh air and soft morning dew hydrate her soul and for another day, she feels there is life in her. She looks forward to seeing great things happening in the day though she might not see all. It thrills  her to bits thinking of the surprises she will get; the nice people she will meet, a sweet mail from someone - she hopes to get, meeting her mom and siblings and catching up some chats or simply tending to the flowers and making sure they are getting enough care to bloom beautifully. These are some rambling which resurface from the core of her heart.

Life has not been too beautiful but her thoughts make it beautiful. Sometimes, she feels she is lost in hopes, in dreams, but she still dares to dream like there never is any defying factor to it. Though it is a far reached hope to catch the glitters at the end of the tunnel, the hope is not yet totally lost in the debris of life. It is not an easy task to achieve triumphantly what she wholly desires. She could relate to the saying of her people -  it is not easy to achieve the best; it is not difficult to get the worst. Indeed how true it is. Wise saying can sometimes be a torch on a moonless night.

It is the year end now and she asks herself, what had she done the past 11 months? What is it that brings a significant change in her life and career? Believe it or not, she does not like to make resolutions because her resolutions will remain as they are till the end of December! Then again, some of the things she likes to do are like self-empowerment which boosts her spirit to look at the positive side of things; other than that, her commitment  in completing the tasks assigned to her – not to please her boss but more towards her responsibility and fulfilling it. After all, she is paid. Arggh…that familiar line which makes her ponder whether she lives to work or she works to live. Whatever! What is important, she is surviving.

The sudden burst of fire crackers startles her. Oh! Why so soon when New Year will only be celebrated in about three weeks’ time?  Some people are too anxious. She giggles. She is also wondering how the celebration will be this year. Once, during the display of fireworks in her home town, the firecrackers were shooting sideways instead of upwards. What a bad start of the year!

December is always a cold month; snow in the west, rain in the east. Somehow in her heart there is always a flame burning which makes her feel the warmth , be it for herself or her special thoughts for those she cares.  Before the month ends, she will be gone but not too long.

Omar Akram - Surrender

Listening to good music can soothe my mind after slogging days of works. I love Omar Akram's music.  This is among his creations which I got from youtube. Credits to Andreea Petcu for uploading this video.

This sentimental and romantic music makes me feel so light and enable me to fly gracefully in the air. As if I am gliding among nature's beauty; smiling and laughing, admiring the uniqueness of each one and feel so blessed to be able to see their existence which makes this world beautiful. Deep in my heart I wish this beauty to ever last though deep down in my heart, too, there is a scary shadow lurking somewhere as a warning sign that hopes will fall into pieces as we progress, more developments take place, thus more destructions done on nature...

I am now carried away by the beauty of this music; listening with eyes closed and in deep appreciation. It is such a wonderful feeling which makes me wish to listen more and more to it. Listening to music is one way of decluttering myself from the bugs of life. Indeed, I feel so relax now when the beautiful melody of this music  gently touches my soul. I am in another world where there is peace and love. I heart it!

I love flowers and pink is among my favourites. It makes me feel so lady-like. Flowers are often given as gifts and it does bring a lot of smiles for someone who loves it.

I google for the meaning of flowers and this is what I got for pink flowers.

"The pink flower can signify a teasing interest, grace, gentility, and happiness.  It is often a more modest gesture than that of a striking red flower, offering an allure of mystery to the recipient as to the intentions of the giving party. Pink may also represent joy, youthfulness, and innocence. " Source

Just Another Day...

Going to the shopping complex, where else could you find me other than at my favorite spots - ladies’ wear, handbags and skin care products. These are ladies’ stuffs which I just could not resist. Sometimes I do not buy anything but just looking at what is on sale is enough to “please” my eyes!  It is therapeutic being able to go around making choices of any product at the same time, I have to watch my purse from thinning out!

I was at a shopping complex this morning and there was this woman who was looking for blouses. I was somewhere around making my pick for cotton blouses. The woman went to the fitting room and I  waited for my turn. A few minutes later, she opened the door of the fitting room, still wearing the blouse she wanted to buy.  She looked at me and asked whether the blouse was suitable for her. I gave a sincere comment by saying it really looked good on her. She seemed undecided and asked me again whether it was the right choice.  I told her it was a good choice. And this time she said not to compliment her too much or else she would buy more blouses of different designs!

Later, I went to the bookstore. This is also a must-visit place whenever I go shopping.  I am addicted to books, magazines and what not…in prints! I went over to the magazines’ shelf and got hold of “Shape”.  There are so many good topics related to health and one that caught my eyes is “Your most common exercise injuries – solved!”.  I need to know more on this as I am exercising regularly. In the blaring music, I follow the aerobic steps of the instructor and this is my exercise regime, an hour a day for 5 days a week.

My visit to the store would not be complete without buying a novel. I walked among rows of books and finally picked “The Sky Is Falling” by Sidney Sheldon.  It is really spellbinding and once reading the first page, it is like gluing to my hands because I feel I cannot put it down even for a minute!

Another day had passed by and now, I am waiting for tomorrow.  :)

Time To Chill Out........

......after a hard day's work yesterday. Actually, feeling as though my feet aren't on the ground cos throughout the week been on the move since Monday. Yesterday morning wrapped up the whole thing in one lengthy report.....a meeting that started at 9 a.m. and ended at 1.45 p.m! My gosh....the job done but leaving me with a throbbing head. So, at 8.30 p.m, my sister and her kids and myself headed off to the cineplex.....for a reason, to watch our icons Edward Cullen and Bella (we fondly refer them by their screen names) on the screen. It always thrills us to bits talking about the Twilight and my sister would always talk impatiently for the next episode, Breaking Dawn. She always sighs after each episode cos she feels she doesn't get enough of it as though the story would never end, similarly like Edward who lives for hundreds of years! I told her jokingly that I don't wanna read the final part of the novel cos it would break my heart if Edward and Bella didn't get married! But curiosity got the better part of me and I couldn't help reading the plot summary and that's it....less thrills..eh. Right now, both my sister and I are counting the days when are we able to watch the next episode.

Came back from the cineplex at 11.30 p.m. It's past midnight now and I'm writing this cos I feel that I'm too excited to record it in words and that makes me wide awake right now! We learn so much, right...from what we see.... about love, about family values and about obstacles we have to face and the price you have to pay for each wrong step. It teaches us a lot and instils into us the importance of virtues. I'm referring to some of the scenes in Twilight....the positive aspects of it. It could be inferred to our daily lives cos it intertwined....it really is. I'm thinking of Jacob now....with empathy....he's a kind-hearted guy (wolf) and faces a tough fight between Edward to win Bella's heart. Bella....torn between two lovers but I'm glad that she accepted the ring given by Edward. Oh, how romantic! Just can't wait to see them tie the knot (as though I would attend the reception....aha).

So much for that.....have to tell myself  not to be carried away. Well, it's another new day....new things coming up. At 8.00 a.m Saturday have a function to attend to. And Sunday afternoon, my sister's housewarming with an expected 120 guests. I have been helping her with the planning and it's been hectic for both of us prior to the function.

Well, that's all for now. I'm calling it a day.
