My First Limerick

There was a girl who loved  buns
Devouring them and her life was fun
Her mom served cake instead
Which drove the girl very mad
She would rather go out and soak up the sun.

** This is my first attempt on limerick. It gives me the thrill in writing this one though it isn't up to the standard  of limericks I have read before.  I love the humour I find in them. I am also inspired  by my two good friends, Od and Omo, who have good hands in limericks. Please, check out their posts Limerick for Elf at Od's blog, and Limerick : Boss at Omo's.

Have fun and have a great Sunday! :)

    1. Glad you're here to read my limerick, Omo. I didn't know it could make you laugh! I was thinking of word rhymes and put 'sun' there. You never know a sulky girl would storm out of the house for the buns she didn't get, so went out into the sun instead. :D

Thank you for your warm words. Will be waiting for your limerick. :)

  4. What a first good try Balqis. The more you write the better you become. I also am a fan of Od Liam's limericks too, he is so so good at it. And hope you too enjoy the rest of this lovely Sunday afternoon.

    1. Thank you so much, Od. You never fail in giving me so much inspirations and encouragement to keep writing. You know how much I appreciate that. :)

When I love a certain genre of writing, I put my heart into it. I study on how it's written and try to create my own piece. And you must know, I get the ideas from both you and Omo. Thank you so much, my sifu. :))

    2. You give me too much credit!

You do not need any sifu, your own talent is enough!

      Thank you my friend!

  9. i love this subject of buns n cake cos it immediately draws a cartoonish picture as m reading the lines n the sweet, round shapes, i can smell and taste the humor..thats how much texture, image, aroma..if u had added chocolate it would have an even bigger smell wafting across...i really enjoyed it
