The Final Journey

How would I know that
today is the last goodbye
between you and I?

Am so grief stricken
upon the sad news of you
leaving forever

Crystals of my eyes
drop so weakly one by one
wishing you would stay

Alas, I'm human
having not a single strength
to fight against fate

I watch silently
you in a beautiful gown
leaving to meet Him

My prayers for you
in my heart, your name engraved
Rest in peace, my dear

**It gives me so much sadness in writing this Haiku as a dedication for my beloved friend who was also a colleague who succumbed to her illness today at 9.30 a.m. She was a real fighter going through the painful times the past eight years. We are of different beliefs but could get along fine with each other. A beautiful young woman who had been a darling to everyone left imprints in my heart.**

  1. This is so lovely penned Balqis, I am sorry for your loss, you seemed to like this special person a lot and your words are a beautiful testimony of your feelings. We are powerless in front of death. May God receive her soul and help the ones who stay behind.
Keeping you and her loved ones in my prayer. Take care dear.

    1. Thank you so much for your comforting words and prayer. Where there's life, there's death which no one can escape from. The loved ones who had left will be remembered forever.

    1. Thank you so much for your concern, Fiona. It means a lot. Apart from our family members, close friends are another special group of people in our lives. We love them like we love our very own families.

It pains to lose her but she's been called to rest. May she rest in peace.

Please accept my sincere apologies on the passing of your friend. Death may have welcomed your friend into its embrace, but the memory of her and the wonderful times you shared together will always remain in your heart. Nothing can take that away from you.
