Limerick

There was a lady so beauty conscious,
Every minute she wanted to be gorgeous;
One day, much to her dismay,
She saw a strand of grey,
Popping out of her beautiful tresses.

  3. Chuckles! That certainly is a shock discovery! But it is 'part of growing up' My shocking moment was when caddies at the golf club started calling me Pakcik instead of abang! Great write with that added humor!, Balqis!

    1. Luckily you didn't stare at them and say "Pak Cik??!!" LOL

Growing up is good but it seems so hard to leave behind one's youth. Thanks, Hank, for sharing your experience and commenting. :)

    Even grey has its beauty

    What else can you do?

Time likes to dab its brush into that color!
    So, be happy... or else!!!

    Nice and good writing, BB!

    1. Yeah, you're right, Od! Grey has a beauty of its own when it's still called "The Crowning Glory" on one's head, though the color had changed into "silver". But it still has its value!

You know, I was thinking of a word to rhyme with the first two lines and the idea of using "tresses" came to mind when I thought of a post of yours about the Chinese guy's tresses. Remember, I was confused then? And you told me, " Think, BB, the English way". There, I got it! Actually, I learned from you!

Hey, I miss your posts! :(

Much thanks for being here, Od. I like your laughter!! :))

    2. What about caught by grey at young age?
Pretend like that is nothing but vintage?

      :) :) :)

Nice writing, BB- just laughed out loud since I've got some grey hair! Hehehehe!

  6. We may be laughing it off but it is a serious problem for many women. Women put so much effort to look their best. It may be funny for others but it is a matter of great importance. Who wants to see their efforts go to vain?

Having said that, the limerick did leave me grinning. There was a time when I used to think 'what's the big deal? It's just a grey hair.' Then I understood that it's not about the grey hair, it is about the prompt that soon we will have to spend lots of money in hair coloring. :P :D

    1. You got the points there. It isn't a big deal at all but both you and I know, women always want to be beautiful, no matter what their ages are. That's just natural.

Glad you grinned! Thanks, Sui, for your comments. :)

  7. Nicely done Balqis! We will all have to go through this phase in our life. The first grey air announce a new start, but it's never easy to see it and welcome it into our life!
    Stay well dear.

  9. Beautiful Balqis. Checking up on you! Yeah. Time never stops and one day we'll reach a certain age. Once, I saw a white strand in my hair and I thought I was getting old or something but no I'm still young, I just had to take it out. Ha ha. I actually think white hair looks nice for some reason rather than grey lol ^-^

    1. Thank you so much, Dana. I'm happy to see you again. Missed you so much!

Yup, the clock keeps ticking and we're moving abreast with it. No worries about the grey hair. Everyone will get it one day! That's the beauty of life.

Some people have grey hair at a very young age but it doesn't mean they're old. Yeah, you're right. Grey hair has a beauty of its own. :)

      Please, stay connected, Dana. :)

  11. It's a reminder to all of us to make use the time we have now as we always fail to realize the fact that life is short.

    1. That's right, Zunnur. Make use of our young days before we get old, take care of our health before we get sick...and so on and so forth. Life is indeed short.

Thanks, Zunnur, for your comments. :)
