A Cry That Cost A Lot

A glaring day.

Tiny pearls of sweat kept dripping at every second when temperature rose towards its peak. It was so uncontrollable. All of a sudden, an eagle's cries could be heard across the hills. The remaining leaves moved by it, shook nervously as it passed by them, helpless were they in an unanswered question of the fate that fell onto them which they could not defy, not the least a bit, not at all.

The eagle cried again, followed by a devastating shriek that could break a hill into halves, when each sound of a giant machine brought down the trees to kiss the warm ground. This time loosening it up and like a flash bringing down all that were in its path.  As the last one standing, before facing its unprecedented fate, the eagle's voice was lost in the wind that brought it to an unknown destination...

Who would listen to it now?

  2. The fate of many if they are just as unfortunate. An eagle in one ought to be fighting fit to face up to the world. Noise and wind can well be just some irritations only. Nice thoughts Balqis!

    1. We are only the planners of our own lives, whether it will turn out as planned or otherwise. Yes, in this ever changing world, one ought to be strong enough to face whatever changes that take place.

There are many things that could be so irritating ; noise, wind, pollution and destructions caused by humans' activities.

Thank you, Hank, for your nice response on this humble post of mine. :)

  6. I use to see many eagles flying high in the sky when I was a little kid. Hovering over the forest of our village. Nowadays, it's a rare sight. Most of the forest has become an oil palm plantation and myself...living in a city with a limited trees. I wonder too..whether the eagles has found a better place to live and survive.

    Very nice Balqis.

  7. Man is slowly destroying the very earth that he lives in and the beautiful creatures are becoming less and less. I can imagine the cry of that eagle, and it's sad.

    1. Man never learn until everything is gone. One day, we'll live in a "bald" earth.
