Speechless

when you're speechless
I'm speechless
who could blame it
breeze stops blowing
we feel the heat
but who would complain
trees standing still
like toy soldiers
no songs of birds
they lose their tunes
all seem void
until an ice-breaking
bringing back life
and sparkles in the eyes
conveying silent words
make us more speechless
how that could happen
I see me in your eyes
you see you in my eyes
does it really mirror
what lies deep within
that words could not explain
we remain speechless

This is nothing more than just a rambling and written based on my imagination. Actually, I was looking at my drafts which to date accumulate to 149 posts, either a quarterly done, half done, almost done or still a long way to reach the finishing line. This is among the ones I tried to complete and I think I've done it though deserve no credit. May be other posts will remain as drafts if words can't find their ways into them. Better, blame be on me!

  1. Being speechless can mean so many things. But what's best of all, is when you both fully understand the silence and you both know each other's thoughts without one word being spoken. It is then broken as if nothing happened.

    1. Yeah, couldn't agree more! Those who experience it will know better. Silence can be broken in many ways, not necessarily with words! ^-^

Loved your comments. Thank you, Rumpunch. :)

    1. Ideas seem to be at the dead end when I couldn't expand them further. Anyway, will try to complete them. Thank you, Ric, for being here. :)

  3. Speechless is a deceptive word, unless it refers to that which cannot be defined.

Companionship, warmth, feelings of understanding, snugness, and many more are speechless words, but when Love embrace and surround them into the heart they have a world of meaning.

    Who would complain? :)

You filled the space with the voice that has not sound, but feelings!

    Muy bello!! Gracias!!

  4. Dear Balqis,
I agree with Od Liam's comment. For me, where there is understanding, companionship, respect & love, words are not always necessary. This was much different from your usual Haiku, but still beautifully expressed.
As a poet, I know that a thought can occur at any given moment...sometimes in the middle of the night...and you just have to write...it might not mean much at the time, but you can always add to it later. That's why I always keep a pen and paper everywhere throughout my home. I enjoyed reading this. Thanks for sharing.

I don't always get to visit your blog as often as I'd like, so I just wanted to take this time to thank you for your presence at my blog. Your comments are very much appreciated. Have a wonderful week ahead!

    1. Hello Andy! Thank you so much for being here. I'm glad you enjoy reading this simple piece. I feel so honoured indeed getting such nice comments from a poet like you. I do agree with what you said about writing down anything that comes to mind at any moment of the day. I do that, too.

Od always has something nice to say and it always amazes me at how deep and far his thoughts are on certain matters. Something which doesn't cross my mind sometimes. I'm so glad getting comments from him, you and the rest of my friends. All your presence means so much to me. :)

You have priorities, Andy, so it's ok when you can't visit this blog as usual. I'll continue to enjoy your wonderful poems. You don't need to thank me, I love being there. Wishing you a wonderful week too! :)
