Happy 55th Independence Day!

It is 31st August again and this is the day we always look forward to. My country achieved its independence 55 years ago on this day after 170 years under colonial rule. Today marks the 55th independence day.  It is the pride of every Malaysian to say that our country is progressing well  in developments and economy.

Malaysia is a multi-racial, multi-cultural and multi-religous country. Here, we live in peace and harmony despite our diverse backgrounds.  There are so many races and ethnics; the three major groups are the Malays, Chinese and Indians.  We are also multi-lingual but united by the official language Bahasa Malaysia (Malay language).

My country with a population of 28 million people is comprising of 13 states and 3 federal territories; 11 states with 2 federal territories in Peninsular Malaysia, 2 states with 1 federal territory on the island of Borneo which is shared with 2 countries, Brunei and Kalimantan Indonesia. West and East Malaysia are separated by the South China Sea.

I love my country and  proud to be a Malaysian.  I wish my fellow Malaysians, "Selamat Hari Merdeka!" (Happy Independence Day!) May our country progresses well and achieves more in future and may we always live in peace and harmony and economically stable. Let there be truly a one-Malaysia concept which is inspired by our beloved Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

On another note ....

This month is also my 3rd blogversary.  Part and Parcel Of Life came into blogosphere in August 2009. I must say that I really enjoy blogging all this while and enjoy meeting bloggers from across the globe. It is a very nice experience being able to share so much ideas, opinions, literature, arts and many more. My wish is to improve my writings. To my followers and visitors, thank you so much for your visits and support. Your presence have made my blogging world more beautiful!

My Baby Turns 2!

Happy birthday, baby! My baby, "whom" I proudly named as Part And Parcel Of Life ... , was created on 21st August 2009. Today, she turns 2!

Today is indeed a significant day in my blogging life. I was quite hesitant at first to create a blog. But a friend had really been so good encouraging me to share stories and whatnot and told me to blog. From then on, I have been blogging but at one stage I didn't even log in for 4 months! Initially, my blog was so "quiet". I would have been the only one "roaming" around if not for the supportive friend who joined in and that's it!

My mood wasn't dampened though there were no other visitors. I kept on writing every now and then but not on a regular basis. It was about a year later I surfed for the world's bloggers sites and came across bloggers.com.  I visited the site several times and fell in love with it! I thought it would be great if I joined it and I'm glad now because I was taking the right step to move forward. Now, I have 465 followers there where as in this blog, the current number of followers are 174.  As of now, there are 164 posts published with 1922 comments and hits 28,237.

To my baby, I'm wishing you many successful journeys ahead and may you always be blessed with happiness in blogging!

It's My Birth Month!

Yes, I'm a May child. My birthday was 10 days ago. Adding another year to my age and I'm ten days older by now! A sudden thought came to my mind that I should post something connected to my birthday. It's just at the right time before this month ends.

All this while, I only know my zodiac sign . I'm curious to know what are other things connected to the birth month of May.  First,  I surfed for the birth flower and got this answer :

Oh! that's cool. I must say that only now I know about it! I searched for more informations about this flower and this is what I got from http://www.ehow.com

Lily of the valley (Convallaria majalis) is a fragrant flowering plant used in religous ceremonies, world celebrations, perfumes and in gardens. Also known as the May lily, it means "return to happiness" and most often symbolizes chastity, purity, happiness, luck and humility.

I'm happy to know what my birth flower is and as a Taurean my zodiac sign  is non other than a Bull!

I don't have any special wish for this year.  But since I'm talking about flower, bull and emerald, I would simply say I hope my life is as fragrant as lily, energetic as a bull and my days  shiny (and bright) like  an emerald!
