Still Waiting

Rain tapping the roof,
Minutes ticking in the clock,
I am still waiting.

** It's monsoon season here where we get plenty of rain everyday.  This morning it rains again and I'm listening to the sounds of rain tapping on the roof. That evoked the idea for this simple Haiku. It's like waiting for the rain to stop while the minutes keep ticking on.  That's how I feel but anyone can comment this Haiku in any way based on how it is perceived.

I chose this beautiful image here. Credits to the owner.

  1. This is a feeling I think most of us can connect to. Rainy days are great after summers but continuous rainfall makes it slightly uncomfortable sometimes. Do you have rain falls all through the year in Malaysia?

    1. I'm glad to know it, Sui. Certain words, certain situations can portray certain moods. It all depends on how we wish to express it.:)

We have rain and shine throughout the year but now is the monsoon season. During this season, it rains almost everyday or should I say, everyday cos it either rains in the morning, afternoon, evening or night time.

Thank you so much for being an early bird and you're chirping beautiful words for me. :)

    2. So much rain!!! But that's what makes Malaysia such a beautiful place. :) I have seen numerous ads and I can't help but be awed by the scenic beauty. I hope that I can make it to Malaysia one day.

This is a beautiful spot for an early bird to start her day. ;)

  3. When you wait for something, time seems to stand still. Wait sometimes can be painful when you need to get something done quickly.
It is raining almost everyday in my place too and it's hard to dry the clothes with the dark skies overhead.

    1. I couldn't agree more with what you said, Zunnur. Remember the lines, penantian itu satu penyeksaan . :)

You're on the west and I'm on the east. It's towards the end of the year; rain,rain,rain...I just can't tell it to come another day!

Thank you so much for reading this Haiku and your wonderful comments. :)

    2. It's quite funny as I was thinking of writing "penantian satu penyiksaan" in my comment but on second thought I did not do so. I'm not sure what reminded you of that phrase but I recalled it from a song titled "Penantian" performed by Febians many years back :)

    3. It's amazing, yunno, when minds work even when we aren't telling others what our thoughts are! Even without thinking of Febians' "Penantian", waiting is indeed excruciating especially when you're so eager to get through over something, for instance. Thank you again for commenting. :)

    1. Thank you so much for feeling it. Yes, rain is beautiful especially when it drizzles. That's when it looks like snow flakes. I agree with you, too much isn't good cos it will cause flood.

Thanks a lot for your comments. :)
