Let Me Be




If I were the sponge,
I'd soak up your pain,
Squeeze it in the sun,
Let you smile again.

If I were the bird,
I'd sing you nice songs,
Which you never heard,
But you'd hum along.

If I were the breeze,
I'd gently sooth your soul,
Not a moment amiss,
Make you great and whole.

    Simple poem, you must be joking Balqis, this is a fabulous and beautiful poem. I have not read one like this in a long time, I could feel tears at the corner of my eyes.
    These lines come from the heart, that's why they are unique and unforgettable.

      Marie, your words touch me. After I wrote this simple poem, I read it again and said it's like the one written by children. I told myself, there's always a child inside me. Let it be me expressing my feeling this way, simple but easily conveyed.

      If you could relate it in any way, I'm even more touched. Indeed, the words are from the deepest fold of my heart. Thank you so much, Marie. Your kindness will stay in my mind and heart. :)
